Explore six key areas of cellular aging research through a comprehensive biomarker panel examining intracellular NAD⁺, oxidative stress, systemic inflammation, cellular senescence, alpha-Klotho, and oxidative DNA damage.
Designed to provide a multidimensional view of selected biological pathways associated with healthy aging, metabolic function, and cellular resilience.
Six scientific pillars. One integrated perspective on cellular health.
Explore the biological processes associated with cellular aging, metabolic resilience, oxidative stress, inflammation, and long-term health.
Aging involves interconnected changes in cellular energy metabolism, oxidative balance, inflammatory signaling, DNA integrity, and tissue maintenance.
The Comprehensive Cellular Aging & Longevity Biomarker Panel brings together six scientific areas of investigation to provide a more detailed picture of selected biological pathways associated with aging.
Rather than relying on chronological age alone, this panel is designed to support a deeper understanding of measurable biological processes that may influence healthspan and physiological resilience.
1. Intracellular NAD⁺ — Cellular Energy Metabolism
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) is an essential coenzyme involved in mitochondrial energy production, redox reactions, DNA repair pathways, and cellular signaling.
Intracellular NAD⁺ measurement may provide information about cellular NAD⁺ status, although its clinical significance as a standalone aging biomarker remains under investigation.
2. Oxidative Stress — Reactive Oxygen Metabolites (ROM) and Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC)
Oxidative stress occurs when reactive molecules exceed the capacity of cellular antioxidant defense systems.
ROM and TAC measurements provide complementary information about oxidative activity and antioxidant capacity, helping characterize selected aspects of the body’s oxidative balance.
3. Systemic Inflammation — Inflammatory Cytokine Profile
Persistent low-grade inflammation is associated with several age-related biological changes and chronic diseases.
Selected inflammatory cytokines may provide insight into systemic inflammatory signaling. Interpretation depends on the specific markers measured, clinical context, and other potential causes of inflammation.
4. Cellular Senescence — Senescence-Associated β-Galactosidase (SA-β-Gal)
Cellular senescence is a biological state in which cells undergo stable cell-cycle arrest and may develop altered inflammatory and metabolic signaling.
Senescence-associated β-galactosidase is widely used in laboratory research as a marker associated with cellular senescence. However, it is not a definitive standalone measure of total senescent-cell burden in the human body.
5. Klotho Longevity Protein — Alpha-Klotho
Alpha-Klotho is a protein involved in mineral metabolism and biological pathways associated with kidney function and aging.
Research has explored associations between circulating alpha-Klotho concentrations, physiological function, and age-related health outcomes. Its clinical use as a longevity biomarker remains investigational.
6. Genomic Integrity — 8-Hydroxy-2′-Deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG)
8-OHdG is a commonly studied marker of oxidative DNA damage.
Measurement may help characterize oxidative modification of DNA, although results do not directly quantify the rate of genetic deterioration or establish an individual’s biological age.
Together, these six areas offer a multidimensional approach to examining selected biological processes associated with aging.
When interpreted appropriately, biomarker information may complement nutritional assessment, metabolic evaluation, physical performance measurements, and other established indicators of health.
The AevumAtlas Philosophy: Understanding biological function is an important foundation for developing informed strategies that support healthy aging, resilience, and long-term well-being.
Important: This panel is intended for informational and investigational purposes as appropriate to the specific laboratory tests offered. Not all emerging biomarkers have established clinical reference ranges or validated uses for diagnosing biological aging. Testing availability, analytical methods, and clinical interpretation should be confirmed with the laboratory.
